Religious Education for Children

The Religious Education program assists parents in providing for their child's religious instruction and formation. Active parent involvement and regular participation by young people are crucial to the success of the program. Sacramental preparation programs require the participation of young people in regular religious formation; this includes preparation for the reception of the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation. All students in Grades K through 8 who are not enrolled in a Catholic school should be enrolled in Religious Ed classes at their own parish.

CCD News! CCD Registration will begin Saturday, Aug 10th. Please stop by the CCD Table at Summerfest for a quick and easy registration! For returning students, you will just need to verify your child's information (including Sacraments dates and locations). The cost is $10/child ($30 max per family). Registration will also be available after mass on Aug, 17th, 18th, 24th, 25th, and Sept 1st. Registration is also available online: https://forms.gle/YmmPySWwMr6oPZEn6 or by scanning the QR code. Our CCD students welcome Pope Francis to America! Click here for pictures!

During the week of Pope Francis’ visit to America, the SJSL students in Faith Formation welcomed him as well. Each class had their picture taken with a large photo of Pope Francis. The elementary aged students made a puppet of Pope Francis and read about his life. The older classes discussed some Pope Facts and some of the places he visited and the Masses and ceremonies he did. Each church hall will have a framed collage of the pictures taken during this special time. They will also be available for viewing on our website.

St. Joseph of the Valley Hall Paintings

For many years, the Confirmation Classes of St. Joseph of the Valley would paint a work of art to decorate the SJV Hall and enhance the learn environmnet for the CCD classes held int he hall, under the artistic direction of Nancy Bauder. Tragically, due to a water leak and mold damage, the hall had to be renovated and all of the paintings were destroyed. We apprecaate the work of those students and the memories of such work of love. We were so very proud of your work! Thanks to the past students involved in the paintings!

Youth Group

PARISH HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS! If you are interested in our youth group, please join us for a cookout at Heim Lake (30145 199th St) on Sunday, Aug. 20th, 6-7:30 pm. Feel free to bring a fishing pole, swimsuit, or lawn chair. Food will be provided. We can't wait to kick off the start of the school year with you! For more info, please contact Morgan Heim.
